Seasonal Tax Return Specialist needed for a Houston Client!

Our Southeast Houston, TX client is seeking a Tax Return Specialist for a three month contract assignment.  Must have at least 3-5 years of experience handling tax returns from start to finish for individuals.

Duties:

Prepares income tax return forms for individuals

Reviews financial records, such as prior tax return forms, income statements, and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare return.

Interviews clients to obtain additional information on taxable income, deductible expenses and allowances.

Computes taxes owed and completes entries on forms, following tax form instructions and tax tables.

Consults law handbooks or bulletins to determine procedure for preparation of atypical returns.

Verifies totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors of arithmetic or procedure.

Calculates form preparation fee according to complexity of return and amount of time required to prepare forms.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with tax returns

Associate’s degree is preferred but not required

Experience interviewing clients to obtain additional information on taxable income, deductible expenses and allowances.

Considerable research and attention to detail, so an ability to read quickly and thoroughly is essential.

Aptitude for working with figures and mathematical formulas.
