PI GIS Tech needed for a Houston Client!
- Knowledge of common workplace practices including practical office safety and typical document retention.
- Migration and organization of electronic data files.
- Assist in maintenance, review and control quality of available GIS raster and vector data.
- Effectively perform and track multiple mapping projects.
- Simple spatial data analysis.
- Provide assistance to meet Texas Railroad Commission filings and corporate reports.
- Assist associates with investigating non technical problems.
- Utilize cooperative working relationships with other departments to fulfill project requirements or task request.
- Integrate good verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Self motivated and works independently.
- High School GED
- Effective use of a PC and standard office equipment
- Minimum 1 year experience working with GIS, or GIS production environment. Preferably in the Gas and Oil industry support services, such as operations support, engineering support, pipeline integrity services, or mapping department. Technical certifications or college credits will be considered in lieu of work experience.
- Some experience using ESRI based software including the ArcGIS suite, ArcSDE or ArcGIS Server and available extensions.
- Knowledge of cartographic skills, including setting projections, use of spatial imagery, processing spatial data, attributing to/from various formats, import/exporting from various repositories, run analysis, familiar with the uses of various data types and application factors.
- Ability to pull routes from electronic or paper alignments, sketches or other spatial representation including GPS points.
- Excellent computer and organizational skills.
